The Hans Tinneberg Award
Presented by the European Endometriosis League (EEL)
Message from Prof. Mohamed Mabrouk, President of EEL
It is with great honour that the European Endometriosis League introduces the Hans Tinneberg Award, a distinction created to recognise individuals who demonstrate outstanding contributions to the advancement of endometriosis care, research, education, or awareness.
This award is named in tribute to Professor Hans Tinneberg, the visionary founder of the European Endometriosis League. His lifelong dedication to improving outcomes for women with endometriosis has shaped the international landscape of clinical practice, research, and multidisciplinary cooperation.
Professor Tinneberg believed deeply in collaboration, education, and compassionate care. The award bearing his name reflects these values and seeks to honour individuals who embody the same spirit of progress and service.
Professor Tinneberg was among the earliest European pioneers to promote structured, evidence-based, patient-centred management of endometriosis. His work helped establish networks of excellence, elevate surgical standards, and broaden recognition of endometriosis as a global health priority.
His leadership laid the foundation for what EEL is today — a united, international community striving for better outcomes for patients worldwide.
