About - European Endometriosis League

The European Endometriosis League (EEL) has two main goals. One one hand our aim is to extend public awareness and support scientific research in the field of Endometriosis and other co-existing gynecological conditions, and on the other hand we are dedicated to training and education in diagnosis and therapy of endometriosis. To achieve these goals, we have built a European board of medical experts on Endometriosis and a variety of activities including the EEL Endometriosis MasterClass, EEL Webinars, EEL Cases under discussion and the EEL Trainee Programme for residents. Furthermore, we are conducting scientific meetings, seminars and congresses, research projects, international cooperations and serve as a frame for patient self-support groups. The results of our research projects are published in scientific journals and thus brought to the public’s attention.

Renowned physicians founded the EEL in 2005. So far we are active in several different European countries and are currently extending our activities into additional countries.

The EEL is supported and financed through membership fees, donations and an advisory board of the medical industry.

Elif Goknur Topcu

Elif Goknur Topcu is a specialist in the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department. After finishing Marmara University School of Medicine, she got her specialty training in the University of Health Science K.S.S. Training and Research Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey. She spent around a year at the University of Maryland Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences as visiting instructor. She has been part of the Turkish Endometriosis & Adenomyosis Association since 2017 and has been an active member of the European Endometriosis League Young Team since 2019. Her main interests are postgraduate training and continuing education.

Ezgi Darici

Ezgi Darici is a resident of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She got her medical degree at Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty and working as a resident doctor at the University of Health Science Zeynep Kamil Women's and Children's Disease Training and Research Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Istanbul in Turkey since 2016. She is a crew member of the Endometriosis & Adenomyosis Society, Turkey since 2017 and an active member of the European Endometriosis League since 2018. Her main interest areas are endometriosis and reproductive endocrinology.

Alin Stefan Constantin

Alin Stefan Constantin MD graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy ``Carol Davila`` Bucharest, Romania in 2007. He started his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the National Institute for Maternal and Child Health ``Alessandrescu-Rusescu`` in Bucharest, which he continued in the Aschaffenburg Hospital in Bavaria and then in Nordwest Hospital in Frankfurt am Main in Germany. He is now coordinating the Endometriosis Center of the Albertinen Hospital in Hamburg, Germany. His main interests are advanced ultrasound diagnostic and minimal invasive surgery of deep endometriosis.

Ioannis Vlachodimitris

Ioannis Vlachodimitris was born in Athens, Greece in 1985. He graduated the Medical School of Athens University in 2004. After his studies he did his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Germany in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of University of Bochum in Klinikum Minden. Since 2017 is working as Consultant of Obstetrics and Gynecology and since 2019 is working in Evangelisches Krankenhaus BETHESDA in Duisburg Germany as Consultant of Endometriosis and Gynecological Oncology Center as well.

Andrea Noppe

Andrea Noppe, MD got her medical degree at Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, Germany in 2013. She started her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Rems-Murr Clinic of Schorndorf and continued at the Clinic for gynecology and obstetrics, Clinics in Boeblingen in which she is presently working as a consultant. Her main interests are endometriosis and endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery.

Noémi Dobó

Noémi Dobó MD is a specialist of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She got her medical degree at Semmelweis University Budapest, Hungary in 2014. She started her residency at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Semmelweis University, where she is presently working as a specialist. She is an active member of the Endometriosis Center of Semmelweis University. Her main interest areas are deep endometriosis surgery and quality of life after surgical procedures for colorectal deep endometriosis.

Ahmed Namazov

Ahmed Namazov MD Graduated as a medical doctor from the 19 May University, Samsun, Turkey in 2007. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Zeynep Kamil Maternity Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey. Between 2012-2015 completed addtional residency program in Israel. Since 2015 working as obstetrics & gynecology specialist and attending surgeon in Barzilai University Medical Center, Ashekelon, Israel. He is also a lecturer in Ben Gurion University of Negev. His main interests are endometriosis and minimally invasive surgery.

Elvin Piriyev

Elvin Piriyev MD graduated from the Azerbaijan Medical University. He started his residency in Germany in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Charite CBF in Berlin, which he continued in the Academic Hospital EKK Weyertal in Cologne, which is endometriosis excellence center level III. Elvin Piriyev got his medical degree at University of Cologne. He is also a lecturer at the University Witten/ Herdecke. His main interests are minimal invasive surgery, surgery of deep infiltrating endometriosis, surgery of uterus fibroids and transcervical fibroid ablation.

Mihai Constantin

Mihai Constantin MD graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy ``Carol Davila`` Bucharest, Romania, in 2017. He started his residency in Gynaecology and Obstetrics in Germany, at the Academic Hospital - Hospital of the Holy Spirit - in Frankfurt and continued at the Nordwest Hospital in Frankfurt with the main interests in Endoscopic and oncologic Surgery - as a certified Endometriosis Center. His main interest areas are deep endometriosis ultrasound diagnosis and minimal invasive surgery and reproductive medicine.

Laurin Burla

Laurin Burla, MD, graduated from medical school in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2016. After residency years in different hospitals in Zurich and Schaffhausen in general surgery and gynecology, he is currently working as Attending Physician in general surgery. His remaining residency in gynecology is scheduled for 2024 at University Hospital Zurich. His academic and clinical interests involve the diagnosis and classification of endometriosis, especially MRI diagnostics, as well as minimally invasive surgery, including robotics.

Antoine Naem

Antoine Naem, MD, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Damascus University. His field of interest and expertise is gynecologic clinical research. My main work focuses on the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and management of endometriosis. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Medical Biometry and Biostatistics at the University of Bremen, in Bremen (Germany) and works as a research assistant in Bethesda Hospital Duisburg.
